Delete your Flylish account

App: Flylish · Developer: Yuanjun Zheng

This page explains how to delete your Flylish account, what gets deleted, and what we keep and for how long. It's available in English and Chinese; if the two differ, the English version applies.

01 Delete it in the app (fastest)

The apps are in Chinese, so the menu names are given in Chinese too.

  • Phone app: Me (我的) → Delete account (删除账号)
  • Browser extension: click the Flylish icon in your browser toolbar → Delete account (删除账号…)
  • Windows: Settings (设置) → Delete account (删除账号)
  • Phone reader: Settings (设置) → Delete account (删除账号)

The Mac app and the computer reader don't have a delete option yet. Use any of the above, or email us.

You'll need to enter your password to confirm. If you signed in with Apple or Google (and never set a password), delete your account in the phone app; we'll email you a verification code.

If you have a subscription, cancel it in the App Store or Google Play first. Deleting your account doesn't cancel it.

02 Ask us by email

If you can't sign in, or the version you use has no delete option, email us from the address you signed up with, with the subject "Delete account". We'll reply to confirm it's you, finish the deletion within 30 days of confirming, and let you know when it's done.

If you signed in with Apple and chose "Hide My Email", you can't send email from the relay address. Email us from your Apple ID address, say that you signed in with Apple, and we'll confirm it's you another way.

03 What we delete

  • Your account: email address, display name, password, and any link to Apple or Google sign-in
  • Your settings
  • Your word list, notes and review history
  • Your writing records and grammar notes
  • Your sign-in records, usage counts and operational records

04 What we keep

What we keep after deletion, and for how long, will be published together with the privacy policy. Until then, email privacy@flylish.com with any question.

05 Delete only some data

  • Delete words and notes one at a time in the app.
  • Clear "Recently looked up" on your phone in one tap.
  • Switch to Everyday mode in the phone app, Windows app or browser extension, and nothing you look up from then on is saved to your word list.
